Nexus grows with move to new premises

  14/03/2018

Nexus Components have taken on new business premises in order to continue the company’s growth.

The new facility - in the growing Heysham Gateway business district - means the company can continue to grow and develop the product lines available to clients. Recently Nexus became the UK distributor for Ruffy electronics, adding a whole new range of joysticks and controllers to the company’s offer.

Nexus Director Martin Tomlinson said: “Our business has expanded rapidly in the last year and we needed premises with the capacity to efficiently house a larger range of stock. “We’d just outgrown our existing premises in Caton. As a growing company we needed the space to expand and this is a great place to do it.”

In addition to extra offices and a larger warehouse storage and picking unit, the 1300 square foot space gives the company room for their continued expansion.

The Heysham Gateway area is home to a number of high-tech businesses including Dong Energy, Heysham Power Station, a range of individual businesses and the busy Port of Heysham.
Since 2016, when the £140m Bay Gateway link road vastly improved motorway transport links to the Heysham business district, the area has become a priority for local planners wishing to capitalise on the growth at the Port and investments in the energy sector.
The link road won the British Construction Industry Awards 2017 Economic Infrastructure Project of the Year, recognising its contribution to driving economic growth in the area.Heysham therefore makes the perfect place for an innovative company like Nexus to settle and take advantage of vastly improved transport links, local economic growth and regeneration plans.
Far from being a purely industrial area, the site offers the best of both worlds - west of the Gateway is Morecambe Bay, which is a highly important area for wildlife, particular birds, and has European importance for its biodiversity.
